Following on from the huge success had at their last race back in 2015 race organisers have decided to bring this race back with loads of new and better upgrades from their first one. They also hope to make this race an annual one. The new route will still start and finish close to Rathpeacon National School but have taken out our famous hill that they are sure most people will remember from 2015. By doing this the distance has increased to 4 miles but the new route will offer great potential for athletes to target a fast time and gives first time participants a great introduction to the 4 mile distance.
The Race this year will be chip timed with cash prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd male/female home. There will also be a trophy for the 1st boy/girl U 12’s home. All under 12’s that finish the race will also get a one day homework pass, and everyone that finishes the race will receive a goodie bag. All this for an astonishing €10 entry fee.
They have introduced online registration this year to help speed up the registration process. But there will still be on the day registration open between 09:45 to 10:45. Registration, prize giving and refreshments after the race will be in event headquarters which is the school hall of Rathpeacon National School.
