Now in its 37th year, the Cork Women’s Mini Marathon will take place on Sunday, September 16, 2018. Hailed as Munster’s premier 4-mile road race, it has grown to become one of the biggest sporting participation events in the region, attracting approx. 8,000 participants, many of whom are fundraising for their chosen charity. The event is hosted by the Athletic Association of Ireland (Cork). The Evening Echo has been title sponsors since the inception of the race and is very proud of this fantastic event. All proceeds go to the Athletic Association of Ireland (Cork) to assist with the development of athletics in the Cork region.
The race attracts women (and a few men!) of all ages and abilities, who are instrumental in supporting local and national charities.
The race is run over four miles, starting at the city end of Centre Park Road at 1pm and taking in The Marina, Blackrock Village, Ballintemple, Maryville, Monahan Road and finishing in Kennedy Park.
All registered participants will receive a specially designed event medal on completion of the Mini Marathon and the event is chip timed. A new U16 entry fee has been introduced for the 2018 event.
Register now for what is sure to be a fun-filled day out for all the family on September 16.
