The event which is promoted by Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club now the country’s most prestigious road races having been founded in 1985 by Moscow 1980 Olympian Pat Hooper.
33 years later Pat is still the driving force behind the event in his capacity as race director.
The course remains the same as in 2016 with the race beginning near the Raheny Garda Station and racing for two mile along the outskirts of St. Anne’s Park via a series of left hand turns.
The race continues through St. Anne’s Park, finishing at start area close to Raheny Garda Station. Chip timing will be used to accurately measure the finishing time of all competitors
There is also a special category for walkers, which will begin at 2.40pm while the wheelchair race begins at 2.58pm.
There will be prizes for the first 10 men and women finishers as well as the top three masters in all age categories. There will also be prizes for the first three juniors as well as team prizes.
