RACE REPORT

The Leinster uneven ages, Senior & U23 XC was hosted by Dunboyne A.C in Co.Meath. The preparation of the event was set at a very high std with Dunboyne A.C. and Meath Athletics. After a lot of heavy rain over the last few weeks the course stood up well to a day of multiple events. Over 1300 registered across all the races. Medals among the uneven ages were well spread across clubs and counties. Mullingar Harriers were strong across all age categories, with Newbridge, St. Gerards of Dundalk, St. Abbans among some others who performed well. The older of the age cats Louth were dominant. In the girls underage some noticeable wins were recorded by Dearbhla Allen of St. Peter's, Louth in the Girls U17 and Meabh Eakin of Dunleer, Louth in the Girls U19. In the boys underage there were good wins for Lucan Forde Dunne of Ace A.C, Louth in the Boys and Danny Nugent Ace A.C, Louth in the Boys U19.

The Senior women's race was won by Claire Fagan of Mullingar Harriers with plenty of time to spare. Dublin City Harriers just keep amazing us with yet another senior title win. They have also fielded another team to the Dublin Senior XC the next day.

Mullingar Harriers were 2nd with Sportsworld of Dubin in 3rd place. The men's race also produced another win for Mullingar Harriers. Vinny Connolly who has already won a Novice andIntermediate took this year's crown also helping Mullingar Harriers win their first ever Senior club title.

Ratoath A.C. who are very strong at underage took 2nd place indicating that the young talent is progressing well at senior level. Liffey Valley A.C. were 3rd.
