RACE REPORT

This year's Tullamore Quinlan Cup Half Marathon was a sell out with 1,000 runners taking part. Tullamore Harriers who hosted the event turned this into a must do race on the race calendar. This was also part of the Leinster Road Half Marathon Championships. The race HQ was situated in Tullamore Harriers club grounds. The course was testing with plenty for runners to think about. The warm weather was also a challenge. Runners finished by entering the track and completing a lap with some fantastic support and MC comparing getting them to the finish line.

The race was won by recent National Champion David Flynn of Clonliffe Harriers. David also set a new course record in the process. There was a great quality field of Athletes following behind with plenty of action and entertaining battles taking place for age cat prizes.

The female winner was Aisling O'Connor of Edenderry AC.

Leinster Half Marathon Club Championships

The Race was part of the Leinster Club Half Marathon Championships. The results are based on AAI club registered runners from Leinster clubs. This certainly added some extra excitement and spice to the event. Age categories start from over 35 years of age and calculated on gross time placings. Team results are for both men and women overall, over 35 teams and over 50 teams. Teams are 3to score based on placings

Offaly Half Marathon Club Championships

The Offaly Club Half Marathon Championships were also included. The results again are based on AAI club registered runners from Offaly clubs. Age categories start from over 35, 40, 50, 60 and 70 years of age and calculated on gross time placings. The top 3 overall were awarded prizes along with the top 3 in each age cat. Team results are for both men and women teams with 3 to score based on placings.
