The run will start in the club grounds (Eircode: A92 H585) and the course will take the runners from John Markey Park, turning left out the car park entrance bringing you towards Annagassan village, turning right at Sláns pub in Annagassan village, along the Coast Road, up to the bus stop (marked with a cone and a steward), and then return back along the same route back to the club grounds John Markey Park. See race route attached.
We ask all runners to keep to the left hand side of the road when running as it is a return route. There will be stewards lined out along the route to guide and encourage you.
Cars will permitted into the car park up to 9:45 after which time the car park will be closed for vehicles to allow the final bits to be done before the race commences. The road will be officially closed with Garda presence from 10:00. We would encourage everyone to be at the club grounds for 9:30 at the latest to allow yourselves sufficient time to get parked, warm up, and get your bearings.
Please follow stewards directions upon arrival to the grounds. Parking will be on the clubs training field.
We would encourage you to car pool to the event if possible for parking purposes.
There are dressing rooms in the clubhouse if you wish to leave your belongings there at your own discretion. There will also be welfare facilities in the clubhouse. Shower facilities will not be made available on the day. There will be stewards around the club grounds during the course of the race.
You will be able to warm up for the run on the clubs main pitch.
There will be paramedics present along the route in the event of any mishaps.
There will be refreshments available for all after the run (tea, coffee, sandwiches, cake and baked goods), and there will be prizes for different categories in both male and female, which will be presented on the day.
The race is organised by Naomh Fionnbarra & St Annes GFG, which is a volunteer-run community organisation. The funds raised by this event will help us deliver on our ambitious plans for the club development in the very near future.
