Balbriggan Cancer Support Half Marathon & 10k

RACE REPORT

The 8th running of Balbriggan Cancer support Half Marathon & 10k this morning. On a cold an blustery day the spirits of organisers & participants were not dampened. The event has a fantastic sense of community with everyone grateful to be part of a fundraising event that provides vital support to Balbriggan and surrounding area.

The morning kicked off with a minutes silence to remember friends and family lost since last year, included in this was race directors wife who sadly passed away a few months ago.

First up was the half marathon who headed out to do 2 laps (and a bit) of the course followed by the ever growing 10k.

Winner of the 10k was Simon Ryan of Boyne AC with xx taking the female title.

The half marathon was won by xx of Crusaders with Aoife Parella of Star of the Sea AC first female home.

Well done to all participants, organisers and volunteers for another fantastic event.
