EVENT REPORT

The Battle of Clontarf 10 Mile hosted by Raheny Shamrock A.C was also part of the Leinster 10 Mile Road Champs. Clubs from Dublin and around the province came to St. Anne's Park to do Battle for glory. We also had runners from non affiliated clubs and outside of the province. One 420 signed up to this year's race.

Raheny Shamrock who were the host club had the highest club attendance with Coolock Running Club Closely behind. Outside of Dublin, Tullamore Harriers, Clara A.C, and Edenderry from Offaly travelled well. Mullingar Harriers, Kilkenny City Harriers and Wicklow athletes also made the trip to Dublin. It was the Dublin clubs who had the majority of the success, however those who did travel did pick up medals.

The race was led out by Karl Nolan of Clonliffe Harriers and Newly registered to Rahney Anthony Sharkey. Just a few miles into the race Karl took a sizable lead and it remained that way to the finish. Karl won in a time of 54:16. Anthony was 2nd and Killian Nolan of Tullamore in 3rd place. The women's race was very competitive with the top well recognised within the road race scene. Sarah Flannagan of Tullamore Harriers won in a time of 1:00:46. Fiona Stack of Raheny Shamrock A.C. was 2nd with Caroline Donnellan of Edenderry A.C.

The men's senior team winners were Tullamore Harriers. Raheny Shamrock A.C. were 2nd and Kilkenny City Harriers in 3rd. This was a good spread of medals across the province. In the women senior race Raheny Shamrock were first team with Tullamore Harriers 2nd and Sportsworld RC in 3rd. We also had 35+ teams and 50+ teams awarded with gold, silver and bronze.
You can see all the results and stats of age cats broken down along with the number of club participants per team category in the below green tabs. Well done to Race Director Dave Hooper, all the club volunteers and St. Park for another great Battle of Clontarf 10mile.

Results will be provisional for several days.

Team results will also alter further down the results placings. To make up the top senior and 35 teams athletes from an age cat above are moved down to fill teams.
