Bettystown B-5

RACE REPORT

Record numbers signed up for the Bettystown 5 Mile hosted by Cilles AC in the East Meath village. The event has grown year on year since it's inception. The event offered runners a great experience and was very well organised. Over 560 runners took to the streets and surrounds of Bettystown. This was a relatively flat course with great support given to runners by locals who lined up the streets and back roads. The race was extremely well supported by locals and by running clubs from Meath and surrounding counties of Dublin and Louth. This event seems to capture the minds of runners of all abilities, from runners to joggers and walkers.

The weather was cooler compared to recent warm humid conditions, giving runners a breather and a better chance to perform well. The winner was Freddy Stukk of Raheny Shamrock AC. Freddy was closely followed by Simon Ryan of Boyne AC.

The ladies race was won by Jasmine Canning of Drogheda & District AC

Age category prizes were awarded to for top 6 male and female along with over 40,45,50,55 and 60. Team prizes were also awarded for both male and female with 3 to score for the top 2 teams.
