Irelands original ALL BEACH running half marathon 10k and NEW 5K event.

So, what exactly is The Brandon Bay Half marathon, 10k & 5K event? This is an event, which is run entirely on the golden sandy beach that stretches around Brandon Bay all the way from Fahamore in the Maharees, to Fermoyle point under Mt Brandon itself. The event starts and finishes at Fahamore in the Maharees and competitors doing the half marathon effectively run from one point of the 7 mile beach to the other and back (Fahamore - Fermoyle - Fahamore). The event is being organised and run by Castlegregory Celtic F.C. and is a non-profit event and is the only running event in Ireland ENTIRELY run on the beach!! What a challenge!

This event can be run, jogged or walked and entry for the half marathon distance is €40 and €30 entry for the 10k event and €20 for the 5k. The event starts and finishes at Fahamore in the Maharees for both the half marathon and the 10k. Please note, the start time of this event will be based on tide times for obvious reasons.

Health & Safety
There will be an ambulance service on site all during the event and we will be liaising with the safety officer to create a safe and well organised event. U18's will need a parental consent with a lower age limit of 16 years old. Please note the course is entirely on the beach so runners will possibly get wet as there are some small streams crossing the beach
