Ceide Coast Half Marathon & 10k

RACE REPORT

Another great event for Ballycastle AC and their Ceide Coast Half Marathon and 10k. This has become very popular event in Mayo with numbers increasing each year. The course is challenging but the spectacular views and an excellent home straight finish through the village of Ballycastle. After a wet few days and moring, the weather turned out to be ideal for running with temperatures mild, slight breeze with some sunshine.

The 10k race was won by Dan Charlton in 37:32 and the female winner of the 10k was Vicki Spiteri of Midleton AC in 41:41.

The Half Marathon was won by Paul Moran of Rathfarnham WSAF AC in a time of 80:22 and Sarah Flannagan of Eton Manor AC taking the female title.

The event also issued awards to first male / female overseas participant.
