Derry 10 Mile Road Race 2019
RACE REPORT

The Derry 10 Mile had a record number for their annual event with over 1,300 runners signed up for one of Northern Ireland's premiere events. This year the start / finish area were together which meant the runners had to do a lap of the track before taking on the roads of Derry. What started as ideal weather conditions quickly changed to high winds and a wet second half for the runners to contend with. The race was well supported by local running groups form all over the province.

The winner of the race was David Flynn of Clonliffe Harriers in a time of 52:15, Gary Slevin finished 2nd with Craig Simpson of Foyle Valley AC taking 3rd position.

Leading the women home and taking first place was Ciara Toner of Springwell RC in 01:01:01, second was Catherine Whoriskey of City of Derry Spartans with Gemma McDonald of Ballycastle Runners finishing the top 3 women.
