DLR Bay 10k

RACE REPORT

The DLR Bay 10k was another fantastic event in Dun Laoghaire with over 1,600 participants lining up on the promenade to take on the challenging 10k. This has become one of Dun Laoghaire's highlight events and greatly supported by the Dunlaoghaire Rathdown Council. It provided a great spectacle for onlookers and supporters as they lined up to support the runners as they crossed the finish line. As ever there was a real big race feel to the event. After last year's success of a children's race, this year also had a children's race just after the main event started. The finish area provided plenty of action as the children's race was immediately followed by the leaders of main 10k event.

The race has become an annual event for most of the participants. Once the participants run this event they come back for more year on year. The course did offer some challenging sections making this a good test.

The race was won by Canadian visitor Lucas Mcaneney. The female winner was Michelle Cox of Newbridge AC
