2026 Race Report

The Dunboyne 10k was another fantastic race. We had a record number of just over 2,100 siging up. This race has become one of the fastest 10k races in the country. It certainlly boasts one of the flattest courses in the country. It also hosts the Meath 10k road championships. The Meath clubalso knows how to put on a race and look after their participants. The std of organistaion was a very high standard resulting in a very enjoyable race to participate in. Over 120 volunteers were involved in making this a success.

Many pbs were achieved this year as the weather conditions were ideal with a very light breeze and slight overcast. The men's race was won by Colm Rooney of Clonliffe Harriers. Colm also broke the Mens Masters Irish record that he set at the same event last year. Both Colm and Michael Harty of East Cork shared the record of 29:42. This year Colm ran 29:34. This was a great performance from Colm, who held off many fast young guns. In 2nd place was Eoin McElhinney of Bantry A.C. (30:02) and in 3rd was Eoin Totten of Newcastle & District A.C. The men's team winners were Drogheda & District A.C

The women's race had a lot of depth with several well-known athletes featuring in the top 10.
