Dunboyne AC 4 Mile

RACE REPORT

A fabulous day in Dunboyne for the Annual 4 Mile Race with over 700 runners. The day had everything from top racing, sunshine and a fantastic atmosphere in the Village. The day kicked off with Kids races at 2pm, which provided great entertainment for spectators. The is a unique event where the runners run through the centre of the Village twice. This provided spectators with constant action and excitement. At the same time Athletes were been encouraged and motivated with the constant support. This is a real club event with many top runners from all over the country. Meat, Dublin, Westmeath, Kildare, Louth, Offaly and beyond were very well represented by clubs.

Many non club local runners also attended this extremely well organised event by Dunboyne AC. The race was a close affair through out the whole field of runners. It was a superb tussle and tight race between Mick Clohisey and Brian Maher. These 2 big guns went right the finish. Just behind them some great racing was witnessed by the large crowds who lined the Streets of Dunboyne.

Feidhlim Kelly who has a vast knowledge of athletics provided huge excitement with his race commentary.
