East Cork Harbour Marathon, Half &10k
RACE REPORT
The first running of the East Cork Harbour Marathon was a huge Success Today in East Cork. Over 1,000 runners signed up for the event. Huge efforts were made by Aghada RC, Aghada GAA, Local clubs and many other local villages all gave a helping hand to organising this event. The runners were brought around some of East Corks most impressive landscapes. All funds raised from the event will go towards worthy local community initiatives as well as to the official event Charity Partner, Marymount Hospice.
Over 130 runners signed up for the Marathon, The Half Marathon attracted over 400 and the 10k had just over 500 runners. The main HQ was located at the Agahada GAA grounds. Runners were able to avail of BBQ food, teas,coffees and cakes.
The HQ also offered great entertainment with music, children's games and races all taking place on the football pitch.

A team challenge was also introduced for companies and clubs. Points were awarded for the amount each club or company entered. The winners were Henieken.
Results show all age categories and teams based on a sample of 3 to score. However, there were no prizes given for these categories and teams. This is an indication of performance for individuals and clubs..
