RACE REPORT

 

The Dunboyne Eirgrid threw up another great race. Just over 600 Runners entered the event. This flat fast course offered many runners a PB oppertunity, and by the looks of the times posted, many people may be going home happy with their performnace. The route brought the runners into the town centre of Dunboyne for 2 laps giving spectators great views of the race.  This unique route created  a great atmosphere in the village with PA announcer Feidhlim Kelly of Athletics' Ireland giving some very informative and entertaining news about the race itself, and on the Runners.

The race was won in a blistering time of 18:39 by West Waterford A.Cs David McCarthy. The race had real quality and class with some Athelete's heading Rio Bound in this year's Olympic's. The Female winner was a home crowd pleaser with Sara Tracy of Dunboyne A.C. There was some great performances throughout the race by many athletes. 

The Male Team event was won by Raheny Shamorock A.C and Dunboyne AC in second. The Female Team winners were Civil Service A.C followed by  Dunboyne AC in second..  Provisional Result are available now and provisional only.

 

 

Runners from all over the country came to test themselves in this event, which is one of Meath's finest Road Races. The close proximity of Dublin attracted many Dublin clubs who always represent themselves well in this race.
