RACE REPORT

 

  

 

 Over 200 runners attended the first Harry Mallon Memorial 4 mile hosted by Boyne AC. Harry Mallon was an important member of the club over many years. Drogheda and local people came out in huge support and recognition of Harry. The Drogheda club provided runners with a great event and after refreshments. Clubs from all over the county of Louth were in attendance along with clubs form Dublin and Meath. The course was a flat fast course consisting of 2 laps around Donore industrial estate, which provided onlookers and supporters with plenty of action. 

 

The event attracted walkers, joggers and runners making this open to all abilities. The finish line was located right at the registration area where the after food offerings also was located, making life very easy indeed for the participants. 

 

The race itself was an exciting and close encounter with some very high quality athletes on show. Freddy Sittuk won the race with a tight battle for 2nd and 3rd places between Brian McCluskey and Simon Ryan.
