RACE REPORT
The final race of the Athletics Ireland Race series was a huge hit with runners in the Phoenix Park. Over 1,500 runners signed up for the event along with the previous 2 races. There is not doubt that this new series by Athletics Ireland will be very popular in the racing calendar over the next few years.
The weather was fantastic with sunshine and little or no wind. Frank Greally and Feidhlim Kelly provided plenty of entertainment and support for spectators over the PA system for runners as they approached the finish line.
The winner was Freddy Stukk of Raheny Shamrock AC. Freddy was closely folllowed by fellow club mate Killian O'Leary. Thomas Fitzpatrick of Tallaght AC also had a fine run finishing 3rd.
The ladies race was won by Caitriona Jennings of Letterkenny AC. 2nd place was Karen Alexander with Raheny Shamrocks AC Tara Kennedy finishing 3rd.
Age category prizes were awarded to for top 3 male and female along with over 35, 45, 55 and 65.
