John Treacy Dungarvan 10 Mile

2026 Race Report
The John Treacy 10 Mile was another resounding success again this year with just under 3,600 registering for this high profile and long standing traditional 10 mile race. The host club West Waterford A.C.have created one of Ireland's top road races. Year on year it produces the fastest 10 mile road race times indicating the quality of athletes that it attracts. Many athletics clubs throughout Munster and countrywide make this their first big race of the year to participate in.
This is race very much aimed to look after club runners with a big prize fund and wide ranges of individual and team awards. Last year witnessed the course record broken for both the mens and womens race. This year we had no course records but there was no shortage of fast times. 28 runners ran under 55mins. 6 Women ran under 60mins.
O'Regan of St. Johns (Clare), who is the National Half Marathon champ won the race in style in a time of 48:47. He raced toe to toe with Killian Mooney of DSD A.C. but managed to hit the accelerate button in the last mile or so to take the race win for 2026. To win the John Treacy 10 is a momentous occasion for any athlete. Killian finished in a time of 49:07. Gavin Curtain of Donore Harriers and Dublin Track Club was 3rd in a time of 50:04.
The women's race was won by Emily Sisson of New Balance. Emily is a former 2 time Olympian and also holds the North American Marathon record of 2:18:29 set in Chicago 2022. She won this year's race in a time of 53:22. In 2nd place was Jessica Coyne of Leevale A.C ins a time of 55:56 and in 3rd was Dee Grady of Ennis Track clocking 56:40
