The Lough Boora 10K/5K is hosted in Bord Na Mona’s fabulous Lough Boora Discovery Park which is located in the heart of Offaly and Ireland. The event is in its 3rd year and has grown from strength to strength. Both races are run on fast flat courses in the Parkland on the unique roadways and track ways of the picturesque park.
The race is organised by a group of local runners and working group who work hard to provide a high quality event and raise much needed funds for 3 charities – Autism Action Ireland, Dochas Cancer Support & Midland School of Special Needs.

The race is supported and enhanced in no small way by the backing of Will Faulkner and his hardworking team at Midlands Radio 3 who are involved in the race for their 3rd year. Will and his team give the race much needed exposure and air time through Midlands Radio 3 in the Midlands area.
This year the race will be helped with the opening of a New Car Park at Lough Boora Discovery Park which is convenient to the race head quarters and also the race start lines. There will be safe and secure parking for all competitors.

Once again this year the 10K will be chip timed which will mean competitors will be able to view their result online at myrunresults.com and will also receive a text message to their phone shortly after the race. There is online entry for both the 10K & 5K on the same website.
