Love Them or Leave Them 5k

RACE REPORT

The first year of the Love them or leave them 5k took place in Loughgall Country Park. This was a way for couples to celebrate valentines days in a slightly different way to how they normally would.This was ideal for those couples who enjoy running, to run together and test their team work ability. Many non runners also seen the appeal of the event. The weather conditions also added to the challenge for couples as high winds and heavy rain made it that bit tougher.

Great fun was had by those who turned up despite the weather. There was also a children's race that helped contribute to the family day out. Over 340 signed up for the couples 5k and over 50 children took part in their race.

The facilities provide by Loughgall Country were superb and made it very family friendly.

Prizes were awarded to male, female and mixed couples , There was also prizes for couples based on their combined age. The main objective of the event was to raise funds for 2 main Down Syndrome charities.

With year 1 been a great success we are sure next year will be another great day out for couples and families. Well done to David Strain and his team for a great event.
