RACE REPORT

 

  

 

 

The Medieval Marathon brought Kilkenny to life today with over 600 runners taking part in multiple events from 10k, Half Marathon, 30k and Marathon. The city centre of Kilkenny and Kilkenny Castle witnessed a colourful scene of  runners from all over the country. What an ideal way to visit one of Ireland's most Famous City attractions. Runners started in the grounds of Kilkenny Castle and finished in the city centre. The atmosphere was just electric. Hundreds of onlookers and supporters swarmed the Finish area to lend their appreciation to runners. This support and lively music gave the runners the final push home. Kilkenny has now arrived on the scene for a top running event in Ireland...

 The course itself was challenging for the Marathon, half Marathon and 30k Runners with the 10k with the usual gentle up and down gradients of most 10k road races. 

 

The break down of the event was as follows 

 

Marathon 167 Runners

 

Half Marathon 151 Runners

 

30k 137 Runners

 

10k 148 Runners
