MICHELLE MCKIERNAN 5K ROAD RACE & FUN RUN

RACE REPORT

Star of the Sea AC hosted their annual 5k selling out at just over 500 participants. This years race was extra special celebrating and remembering one of their own club members Michelle Mckiernan, who passed away earlier in the year. Michelle was a huge part of the club and a very active participating member who was very much loved by all. Family friends and many local clubs came to remember Michelle.

This is one of Meaths premier 5k events and very much eagerly awaited. The level of organisation by the club makes this a great event. The Race HQ and finish are all in close proximity in the Naoimh Padraig GAA club that offers superb facilities.

The evening started with childrens race at 7pm followed by the main event the 5k. The race was won by Dunboyne A.C. athlete Peter Somba and the ladies winner was Niamh Devlin of Dundrum South Dublin

Well done to all participants, Star of the Sea A.C. and volunteers for a fantastic event.
