RACE REPORT

The Munster Uneven, U23 & Senior XC took place in Two Mile Borris, Co. Tipperary. A huge number entered with over 1540 entries. The biggest entry was for the Girls U11 with 224 registering and 189 taking to the line. The day kicked off with the Girls U9. 

 

Ennis Track A.C dominated the U9 Boys, U11 Girls and Boys, U13 Girls and U15 Boys. Cork and Clare battled it out for club honors throughout the under age races. 

 

The boys races had some noticeable performances such as Daragh Whelan of Limerick A.C in the Boys U15, Ruby Deveraux in the boys U17 and Diarmuid Moloney of Nenagh Olympic in the Boys U19. Diarmuid had a good week as he also won the Limerick 5K Night Run in a time of 14:45 earlier in the week. 

In the girls races we had a close race between Eve Nolan and Lily Considine in the Girls U13 with Eve narrowly taking victory. There were also good wins for Ellen Goggin in the Girls U17 and Saoirse Twomey of West Muskerry in the Girls U19. 

 

The womens Senior race was won by Ciara O'Neill of Clonmel A.C, who sat just behind Dymphna Ryan of Dundrum A.C. Dymphna had led for most of the race until Ciara put the burners on in the last lap to have a very strong and convincing win. 

 

Leevale A.C were the club senior winners with Clonmel A.C. 2nd and in 3rd was Dundrum A.C. Tipperary were the county winners. Laura Cooney of Clonmel A.C was the U23 winner and Leevale were the U23 club champions. Cork were the cty U23 winners. 

 

The mens senior race was very straight forward as Paul Hartnett of East Cork  galloped home for the Munster Senior title. Cian Hodgins of Nenagh Olympic was the U23 winner and also 2nd overall. The club team winners were East Cork A.C. Cork clubs were very much at the forefront as Leevale were 2nd and Cork Track Club were 3rd. Cork were also the mens team winners,.
