The 2016 Newry City Marathon will take place on Sunday 29th May 2016. Over the past 8 years this event has gone from strength to strength and this year Newry City Centre Management are delighted to be undertaking the organisation of this year’s prestige marathon event in the heart of the City centre in association with our event sponsor Newry Credit Union. We are encouraging schools in the district to get their students involved in this sporting event.

Event organiser Mr Paddy Duffy added: ‘This year the marathon will start and finish outside the Newry Credit Union on Hill Street. There will be a slight change to the route leading to what is now one of the flattest marathon courses, making Newry City Marathon an excellent race for obtaining a personal best record. The full marathon will start in two waves with the elite runners being allocated the second wave. *Cut-off Time: Runners will be expected to finish within six and half hours.
