Pigsback 5k/10k Run for Marie Keating Foundation

RACE REPORT

The Marie Keating Foundation hosted their annual Pigsback 5k & 10k in the Phoenix Park. Despite heavy rain from early morning large numbers attended the event to support this extremely important Charity. The Marie Keating Foundation was established over 20 years ago, and provides a range of cancer support services from educational classes to help prevent cancer, financial support for families and programmes for both survivors and those battling cancer. These important services provided by the charity is reflected in it's support it receives from the public by taking part in events and donating much needed funds throughout the year.

There park was brightened up with a wave of pink shirts, hats and umbrellas with so many people in high spirits. This years winner of the 5k was Jamie Goonery and the winner of the 10k was Eoin Ryan. Many of the participants had their own goals and reasons for participating out side of running for times and placings.
