Rathfarnham 5k 2018

RACE REPORT

Another cracking day for Rathfarnham WSAF for their 5k. Just over 1,130 runners signed up for this extremely popular Dublin event. It has a reputation of hosting some fast times and attracting some top athletes. Today was no exception. Club athletes from Dublin, Kildare, Meath, Louth, Laois, Westmeath, Wicklow and many other counties were represented. The event also attracted a large number of participants form the local area. The course is not flat, but seems to lend itself to fast times. The up and down sections seems to help the Athletes at the right time. The first 1,200m is a fast downhill section followed by a 700m or so climb, which brings them on to a flat section of the course taking them by Terenure college at 3k. The course is full loop which gives runners a nice downhill finish.

The winner of the race was Kevin Dooney . The Female winner was Catherina Mullen. Full results are available below.
