RACE REPORT

Rathkenny AC hosted their 4th Annual 5k with great success tonight. The club has gone from strength to strength over the past number of years. This race has become an important part of the Meath Road Race event Calendar. This evenings event was extremely well supported by Meath and Louth clubs. Over 160 Runners took part on a wet evening. However, it was a very well organised event with a very welcoming feel given to all participants.

As with all Meath Races with age categories, the race was very competitive throughout. The usual suspects are showing on results. In the women's over 40 Mary Hanley (Na Fianna AC) took top spot with Mary Watters, (Navan AC) winning over 50 category. In the Men's Ray Coogan won the over 40 and David O'Connell(Bohermeen AC) took Men's over 50.. The junior categories had a local winner from Rathkenny AC, Fergus Crilly and the junior Ladies was Eithne Carolan from Meath Fitness. Well done to all who took part. 

The team event required 4 to score and it was Dunshaughlin AC taking the bragging rights this time round for the men. The Ladies team winners were Bohermeen AC
