Rathkenny AC 5k 2019

RACE REPORT

The 5th outing of Rathkenny AC's 5k road race took place this evening. This event is growing in popularity each year with over 340 registered for the chipped event and another 100 non chipped walker / juveniles taking to the roads.

The local community and athletics clubs turned up in great numbers with Navan AC, Star of the Sea AC, Trim AC, Dunshhaughlin AC and St Brigids AC taking part to name a few. There was also support from further afield with Raheny Shamrock AC, Donore AC and Clonliffe Harriers AC participants also on the start line.

The weather was kind to the participants with the downpours had earlier in the day no where to be seen.

The Mens winner was Ben Brunton of St Brigids AC in a time of 16:01 with Shauna Moran of Dunshaughlin AC taking the ladies top spot in a time of 19:48.

Results also included age cats and team results.

Well done to Rathkenny A.C. making this another highly successful year
