Ratoath Half Marathon & 5K

RACE REPORT

The first running of the Ratoath Half Marathon & 5k hosted by Ratoath AC was an outstanding success. Well done to all participants and the organisers. This event was long in the making to ensure runners received the best possible experience. Expectations were very much realised. The location was Fairyhouse Racecourse in Co. Meath. It was ideal as the amenities provided by Fairyhouse ticked all the boxes for runners needs. The event was sold out 2 weeks prior to the date, indicating how popular the event grabbed the attention of local runnner and runners nationwide. Over 1,300 signed up to take part for the the 2 distances (Half Marathon & 5k).

The Half Marathon was won by Stephen Kelly of Drogheda & District AC in a time of 1:14:48. The female winner was Aoife Parella of Star of the Sea AC.

The winner of the 5k was Club member Ciran Quinn.
