Sandyford 5k

RACE REPORT

The Spirit Sandyford 5k hosted by Dundrum South Dublin Athletic Club was a roaring success this year. The event attracted it's largest number of participants with over 700 taking part. The event was set up to promote wellness and a healthy lifestyle for for local companies as well as providing a club race. The increase in numbers due to a number of factors. Event organisers provide an excellent race and facilities for the participants. With a great event on offer, local companies have used this to create team building, promote their companies, provide some competitive banter with other local companies and create a culture of wellbeing within the company.

Prizes were awarded for both individual and teams. The team element allowed companies to enter Male, Female and Mixed teams with 4 to score.

The overall winner was Robert Corbally of local club Dundrum South Dublin AC. The over all female winner was Aileen Gittens of Liffey Valley AC.
