Ardee & District A.C host mid-Louth’s biggest 5K. It’s their 4th year running this road race in memory of Seamie Weldon, a celebration of the life of this man who inspired athletics in the young of our community and dedicated so much to Ardee & District AC and athletics in general. See: www.ardeedistrictac.com for more details.
Don’t underestimate this course, with your Seamie t-shit and number pinned a steep hill or two begins the challenge as you exit the town of Ardee followed by a bendy road into the open countryside. And just when your legs have recovered half way a long gradual climb awaits to test your mental strength before you embark on the final stage teasingly downhill to the finish where crowds await to cheer your achievement. Refreshments in the clubhouse followed by the prize presentations.
