Seamie Weldon Memorial 5k Run Walk

RACE REPORT

Ardee & District A.C hosted another great event this year for their Annual Seamie Weldon 5k. This race was hugely supported by runners, joggers and walkers from the locality and the County of Louth itself. Over 450 runners signed up for the 5k challenge. The St. Marys GFC club house provided superb facilities for HQ and after refreshments. There was no doubt that the event was enjoyed by all. The event was also part of the Louth 5k Championships proving itself as one of county Louth's premiere 5k.

The battle for 1st and 2nd place was an all Dublin affair. The  winner was Freddy Stukk of Raheny Shamrock A.C. who was very closely followed by Valdas Podolskas of Balbriggan & District AC. Freddy broke his own course record by 15 secs on last year.

The Female winner from county Louth and running with Dublin club DSD was Niamh Devlin. Niamh also broke the ladies Course record by over 30 secs.
