RACE REPORT

A bumper night for Navan AC and their annual Simon Cumbers and Paddy Hyland 6k. Over 1,100 signed up with another 150 children taking part. The popularity of the race has risen dramatically over the last few years. The event attracts some fine athletes and all types of joggers and walkers. The event provides participants with a great night of running and entertainment. Running events have now become more than just about running. This event is a prime example how events have become a place of social interaction, well being and enjoyment for people.

The race was very competitive as 2 rivals well known to each other were left to battle it out all the way to the end. Peter Somba of Dunboyne AC and Mick Clohisey of Raheny Shamrock AC were the 2 contenders . This provided for a great spectacle for onlookers. Peter won out closely in the end.

Well done to all participants, Navan A.C. and volunteers for a fantastic event.
