Record numbers attended the Simon Cumbers 6k this year. It's easy to see the attraction with a flat fast course and close proximity to many clubs from surrounding towns and villages. Over 600 enjoyed the summer time temperatures and sunshine. A Huge well done to Navan AC for putting together a wonderful event. Many months of preparation made tonight a success. The hospitality and after food treats, tea and coffee show why Meath events have become so popular over the last number of years.

Many of this years participants have just joined Navan AC and other running local groups. This is one of the reasons for the increase in numbers this year. Also, with the introduction of the Park Runs in Navan aided the increase in people participating to the sport. Navan AC have been very pro active in working with the local Park Run. This has helped to contribute runners making the transition from Park Run to Club runners.

Adrienne Jordan of Crusaders AC female winner

Tonight's race was very closely contested with Peter Samba winning the race and Simon Ryan in second place. The female winner was Adrienne Jordan of Crusaders AC in Dublin. Navan AC provided prizes for all age categories. Team prizes were also awarded. Bohermeen AC performed extremely well taking top team points for both male and female.
