RACE REPORT

The Spar Omagh Half Marathon & 5k hosted by Omagh Harriers provided another great event for participants. The Half Marathon yet again broke record numbers signing up for one of Northern Ireland's premiere half marathon events. Just under 3,500 runners descended upon the Omagh Leisure Centre from early morning. The Half Marathon attracted some top quality runners from both Northern Ireland and the South of Ireland. A wide spread of club singlets were on view at the start line. Many runners also participated to run for local charities.

One of the largest groups to take part was "Run For Enda" who always bring plenty of colour and atmosphere to the event. The 5k event was very much catered for fun runners and promote young people to take part. Many local schools participated and also ran to compete for school team prizes and individual age categories.

The Half Marathon race winner was Stephen Scullion of Clonliffe Harriers, with Declan Reed and Gregory Roberts of City of Derry Spartans in 2nd and 3rd..

The Ladies race was another close race with Anne Marie Mcglynnn taking top spot and also breaking a course record in the process. Age categories for both men and Women were hotly contested.

The male club team prize was won City of Derry Spartans AC. The Ladies team winners were Letterkenny AC. All Team scoring, age cats and individual results are now available..

Well done to Omagh Harriers for another great event. Huge efforts were made to make this event a success.
