Spar Omagh Half Marathon 2019

RACE REPORT

The Spar Omagh Half Marathon celebrated its 30th year with a sell out event. The Half Marathon sold out weeks before the event date. This is certainly one of the Northern Irelands Premier Half Marathons. Over 2,750 signed up for this years Half Marathon and a further 1,000 signed up for the 5k fun run. The 5k has proved to be a great success offering families a great day out. The short distance 5k along with the Half Marathon offers mass participation for everybody from young children to the Mams, Dads and Grand parents.

The Half Marathon had a wide spectrum of participants from Elite Athletes, club runners, running groups and joggers and walkers. The weather conditions were ideal for running with fast times recorded in both the 5k and Half Marathon.

This years winner of the Half Marathon was Gary O'Hanlon of Clonliffe Harriers and the first lady home was Laura Graham of Mourne Runners.

The 5k male winner was Martin Cox with club Run for Enda. The ladies 5k winner was Catherina Mckieran of Annalee A.C..
