St Cocas AC Kilcock 10 from 10

St. Cocas Athletic Club hosted another great event in Kilcock. Known for their highly successful 5k countrywide, they now have established a 10 mile to match. Many early parts of the course are the same as their fast 5k route.

The race is called Kilcock 10 from 10. The meaning behind the name derives from a 10 mile race 10 weeks from the Dublin Marathon. The race also starts at 10:10 in the morning.

This race has grown back to original pre covid numbers and is certainly a hit for all participants from fast elite athletes to those who enjoy a slow jog and experience. All runners are catered for by St. Cocas A.C.
Runners received a fab t-shirt and a fleece hat that will hopefully not be needed for a few months yet. Individual and team awards were also generous which attracted many club runners.

The race itself was won by Ian Guiden of Clonliffe Harriers in a time of 50:27. In 2nd place was host club St. Cocas member Alexandar Wallace and in 3rd place was Adam Nason of Donore Harriers. The men's team winners with 4 to score was Clonliffe Harriers.

Dublin club athletes had a good day with Dublin City Harriers  & Dublin Track coached Faye Dervan winning the women's race. She also smashed the course record by 3 mins in a time of 58:36. In 2nd place was Claire Ni Fhaircheallaigh of Dunboyne A.C. In 3rd place was Joan Kinsella of Clane A.C. The winning women's team was Meath club Dunboyne A.C.

Well done to St. Coca's for a great day and major credit to all their sponsors and local support who help make this a great success.
