RACE REPORT
The Strabane Lifford Half Marathon was another great success with just under 1,100 runners signing up to this years sell out event. The event was organised by Derry City & Strabane District Council and Strabane Lifford AC. Runners came form early morning to soak up the great atmosphere that is always evident at this Half Marathon event. The weather was slightly cool but good for running. You could get a real sense that this was a big event. The build up was fantastic with music and commentary and the well wishes of the Lord Mayor to get runners on their way.
The winner was Gerard Gallagher of Finn Valley AC and the ladies winner was Claire McGuigan of local club Lifford Strabane AC. Many age categories were battled for on the roads surrounding Strabane and Lifford. This unique event takes runners through both North and South of Ireland.
Well done to all who participated and took part today in Strabane.
