Now in its 38th year, the Cork Women’s Mini Marathon will take place on Sunday, September 22, 2019. Hailed as Munster’s premier women’s road race, it has grown to become one of the biggest sporting participation events in the region, attracting approx. 8,000 participants, many of whom are fundraising for their chosen charity. The event is hosted by the Athletic Association of Ireland (Cork). The Echo has been title sponsors since the inception of the race and is very proud of this fantastic event. All proceeds go to the Athletic Association of Ireland (Cork) to assist with the development of athletics in the Cork region.
The race attracts women (and a few men!) of all ages and abilities, who are instrumental in supporting local and national charities.
The 2019 race will be run over six kilometres, starting on the Centre Park Road at 1pm and taking in The Marina, Blackrock Village, Ballintemple, Maryville, Monahan Road and finishing in Kennedy Park.
All registered participants will receive a specially designed event medal on completion of the Mini Marathon and the event is chip timed. A new Junior entry fee for participants aged 8-16 years has been introduced for the 2018 event.
Register now for what is sure to be a fun-filled day out for all the family on September 22nd.
