RACE REPORT

 

The Annual Mizuno Good Friday Killarney 5 mile brought some great excitement to the town. This popular Good Friday event attracted nearly 500 runners. We are unsure if they came for the Chocolate Easter Eggs and the infamous Easter egg cups. Each participant receives a locally made and engraved egg cup. Either way, there was some great performances recorded on the results sheet. The race route started outside the Crown Plaza Hotel and Finishing in the scenic Killarney National Park.. Much of this race was through the Park with an exciting and lively atmosphere at the finish line. The Finish line was further enhanced by "Jules" an "Ironman" Commentator. Our  Video below shows some great Finish line action with plenty of spectators enjoying the event. 

Again this event did not disappoint with the after food sambos, teas and coffees. The entry fee for this event is superb value, with a bulging goodie bag and snacks afterwards.  

This year's winner was  Stephen Young of Leevale AC  and the Female winner was Laura O Shaughnessy. Well done to both Athletes.
