If you want to get your new year running off to a good start what better way to do it than running in Liffey Valley's A.C.New Years Day .5k Race in the Phoenix Park .The race is unique in many ways as it is a two lap race which affords spectators an opportunity to cheer on their friends as they run by . It is also a nice flat lap so p.b.'s are also possible. What a way to start the New Year.
The race caters for all as Fionnuala McCormack as she is now known, holds the women's course record of 16m12s set in 2012 . John Coghlan has won the race on three occasions and holds the men's record of 14m33s also set in 2012..
The race is not just about the stars as it also is the first race in The Lord Mayors Five Alive Challenge Series which attracts all comers. So if beating 20 minutes or 40 minutes is you target or your just out to run off the Christmas excess there is a place for you on the start line.
