RACE REPORT

The first running of the Lusk 4 Mile battled all the elements and odds to provide runners with a superb event. One of the most extreme weather events in history, did not deter the huge commitment and good will of Lusk AC members and it's local Community. As much of the country stayed in doors during the red status warning of snow, blizzards and sub zero temperatures, Lusk AC were out in force ensuring their event could not be stopped by Storm Emma or The Beast from the East.
The hard work and determination to ensure that the race route was safe and clear was made all worth while, by the huge turn out of participants and onlookers. This was a sell out event and organisers went to extremes not to let the running faithful down. After many of the participants were still suffering from "cabin fever" this was a great way to get back on track and moving again.
Participants were delighted to take to the start line in Lusk village. The race start, finish and HQ were all in close proximity making the experience all the more comfortable. Just under 450 runners of the 580 who signed up headed out on the 4 mile route at 3pm. The atmosphere was fantastic with lively music to get the runners into running mood. The children's races before provided great entertainment for spectators and families.
